We met over 9 years ago when I was a freshman in high school and he was a junior. We came to know each other through mutal friends. We are high school sweethearts and have been together for over 9 years now. We are blessed to have found each other. First Love, Last Love, Forever Love!
How We Got Engaged
Joseph and I took a weekend long vacation to go camping on the Edisto River in a treehouse. The adventure started by canoeing 13 miles to our destination which took close to 5 hours and we were exhausted when we finally arrived. After cooking an awesome dinner which consisted of grilled pork chops, corn on the cobb, green beans and a baked potato we ventured outside under the treehouse to this huge deck right on the river. We read our couples devotional and after we finished Joseph went upstairs to get "something to drink". When he returned he said he had something to read to me titled "My Bestfriend". As he read this beautiful poem, my eyes quickly filled with tears. While reading the last line, he preceeds to get down on one knee and opens this box. I couldn't see the ring at first because of the tears but as I wiped them away all I could see was this beautiful ring! Of course I said yes and he has made me the most happiest girl in the world and I can't wait to become his wife! After all the emotions and excitement settled down, he explains to me the reason he wanted to bring me to this place. You see I have never really been camping and this was taking me out of my comfort zone. Away from running water, electricity and civilization. He wanted to show me that he will take care of me not only while we were in the middle of no where but also for the rest of our lives.
